Helmut Teichert | Executive Director

Helmut Teichert has served more than fifty years in multimedia evangelism, including close work with Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru). After leading Crusade’s Paragon Productions and founding Turning Point Productions, he joined Bright in 1998 to launch the Bright Media Foundation as Executive Director and Creative Producer, producing Bright’s books and videos. In 2003 Larry Chapman presented articles on the evidence for God and for Jesus’ identity to Bright, who enthusiastically agreed to help publish them as the Y-Origins and Y-Jesus magazines. Those magazines became the foundation of JesusOnline Ministries. Helmut has led JesusOnline since 2006 (Executive Director since 2016), carrying that evidence-based gospel onto the internet.

Helmut Teichert has spent more than fifty years in multimedia ministry and evangelistic outreach—much of it in close partnership with the vision of Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru).

From 1973 to 1990 he directed Paragon Productions, Campus Crusade’s multimedia arm, pioneering evangelistic films and presentations used across the movement Bright founded. In 1990 he established Turning Point Productions, taking campus outreach and adult Sunday school curricula to churches and universities.

In 1998 Helmut began working directly with Dr. Bright to structure and launch the Bright Media Foundation. As Executive Director and Creative Producer through Bright’s final years, and then in carrying that publishing vision forward, he oversaw Bright’s books, videos, and a complete module of Bright’s writings for the Logos Bible Study Library.

The content that became JesusOnline began with Christian businessman Larry Chapman, who gathered compelling new evidence for God’s existence and for Jesus’ resurrection and deity. In 2003 Larry Chapman presented articles with evidence for God and for Jesus’ identity to Bill Bright, who enthusiastically decided to help publish the Y-Origins and Y-Jesus magazines. Those magazines became the foundation of JesusOnline Ministries. When the articles went online during the release of The Da Vinci Code, that evidence-based gospel moved onto the internet—the mission field JesusOnline was formed to reach.

Appointed Executive Director of JesusOnline in 2016 (after serving as COO from 2006), Helmut now leads the ministry’s global digital outreach: strategic advertising, evidence-based gospel videos and articles, and discipleship through the JO App. The vision and conviction he shared with Bright still defines the work—give people reasons to believe Jesus is who He claimed to be, invite them to receive Him, and help them follow and share Him.

Helmut lives in Montana with his wife, Laurie. They have a blended family of three daughters and three sons.
